Free Pet Food Pantry with North Central Animal Shelter
The Pet Food Pantry provides cat and dog food to low-income residents of Los Angeles whose pets are spayed/neutered and licensed.
At each event, one-gallon bag of dog or cat food per pet will be given to participants. Limit one participant per household for up three cats and/or dogs per household.

Frogtown Heart Walk "Love + Art" - A Car-free, low impact neighborhood celebration where we invite you to "bring the love"
Join Frogtown Arts for an afternoon of art, music, family fun and community connection along the LA River! Over 12 venues in Frogtown featuring art exhibits, free family activities, live music, giveaways, arts & crafts and workshops - all celebrating Valentine's Day!
Walk on over, ride your bike, bring the dogs, the kids and grandma! Just leave the car at home. We have 3 ride share drop off / pick up points in the neighborhood. (see below for locations). Ride share services are highly recommended.

Metro released the Draft Environmental Impact Report (EIR) for the Los Angeles River Path Project on December 18. Join us for a public hearing to learn more about the project and share your input. The Draft EIR is available on the project website at metro.net/lariverpath, where you can also access an interactive PlanEngage version to view each chapter, explore interactive maps, and submit comments directly on the document.

This is a family and pet-friendly community-centered event grounded in cultural respect. Please be mindful of the neighborhood, if you are visiting, ride share services are highly recommended. Parking is available on Riverside Drive with a 2 block walk to the venue.

Frogtown Arts Día de los Muertos Community Altar Set Up
November 1st - From 10:00 am-5:00pm. We’ll be creating the altar with the direction of local notable artist and Dia de los Muertos historian Milton “MAJA” Jurado. We’ll ask you to join us by bringing photos of your loved ones, ancestors, pan de muerto, fruit, sugar skulls, marigolds and other traditional offerings. Write notes of remembrance, dedicate candles to your loved ones.

Frogtown Last Friday - Halloween Edition - A Car-free, low impact neighborhood celebration of music!
October 31, 2025 (5-10pm)
Join us for an evening of art, music, fun and community along the LA River! Over a dozen venues in Frogtown celebrating Halloween featuring art exhibits by local artists, free or low-cost family activities, discounts, giveaways, arts & crafts, workshops, performances live music and trick or treating.
Walk on over, ride your bike, bring the dogs, the kids and grandma! Just leave the car at home. We have 2 ride share drop off / pick up points in the neighborhood. (see below for locations)
Enjoy art exhibits, music, crafts, food pop ups, animal rescues, meet adoptable pets, get creative at our free crafting stations and win prizes from local businesses during our "Find the Frog" Treasure Hunt at participating venues. Costumes encouraged!
Please consider using ride share services, public transportation, ride your bike or walk to this event. Bring the kids, bring grandma-even the dog, just don't bring the car!

Join SLCC every Wednesday from 5-6:30pm for their Food Pantry.
For many years, SLCC has provided a Wednesday night food pantry. All food-insecure persons are invited to come and receive food donated by the LA Food Bank and other local sources. Clothing is also available. Serving Wednesdays, 5:00pm-6:30pm at the Fellowship Hall; guests are asked to line up outside the door and also a drive through service is available.
A new program benefiting the unhoused has begun. Unhoused friends are invited to participate in an extended services program called Wednesday Drop In (WDI) from 2-4:30pm. A small meal is provided along with access to clean clothing and hygiene accessories.
If you want to get involved by volunteering or donating, or have questions, please contact us for needed items/services.

Free Class for Seniors 55+ and Grandchildren with EVAC - Learn the Art of Masapán with Master Artist MAJA
Learn the art of Ecuadorian Bread dough sculpture with master artist and teacher Milton "MAJA" Jurado. A two class series for those interested in learning the basics of bread dough art. Students will create 1-2 pieces to take home.

Come and explore the world of Masapán, an ancient Ecuadorian tradition of crafting intricate sculptures from a special dough. In this creative class for seniors (55+) and their grandchildren, you'll have the unique opportunity to learn from Milton "Maja" Jurado, a master of this art form.

Maja will guide you through the process of making and coloring the dough; teaching you how to create beautiful, detailed pieces that are often used in Latin American celebrations and festivals such as Dia de Los Muertos. These classes are a fantastic opportunity for families to bond over an artistic experience, blending tradition, creativity, and fun.
